Enel starts local geothermal training program in Tuscany

Enel has been educating the public on geothermal through its activities for now more than 100 years. Now, Enel announces it will do so in the literal sense, having signed an agreement with a local Technical Economics Institute (l’Istituto tecnico economico, ITE) of the municipality of Santa Fiora. This month – under the agreement, Enel will kick off a pilot training course for students, which aims to increase the knowledge of local pupils on geothermal energy and technologies.

“The relationship between school and work in Santa Fiora is consolidated and concrete,” said the mayor of the Tuscan town, Federico Toys . “The cooperation with Enel Green Power opens a path that will facilitate access to the company for pupils attending the ITE. We thank the school and Enel for the cooperation.”

School teachers and experts of Enel Green Power will conduct lectures that will illustrate the technical characteristics of geothermal systems and the peculiarities of the technologies developed by Enel. The course is open to graduates of ITE.

At the end of the course there is a test exam. Good results in the exams will allow pupils to participate in future recruitment processes with Enel.
