The countdown to the World Geothermal Congress 2015 is running with less then 14 days until the event starts in Melbourne, Australia.

The countdown to the World Geothermal Congress 2015 is running. In 14 days, the global geothermal community will gather in the Melbourne Convention Centre.

At this event, that only takes place every 5 years, geothermal professionals, academics, students and government representatives will discuss technical and developments, country updates, scientific research, news from projects world-wide, update on financing and more.

With more than 1,000 papers being presented in the various sessions, there is something for everybody. For the full technical program click here.

ThinkGeoEnergy will be quite active at the event and will feature the event greatly. Details about this in the coming days.

Here a few of the things we will be doing:

  • Promoting and issuing four “Best of Show”-Awards for the trade show of the WGC
  • Featuring videos, pictures and news from the event on a daily basis
  • Press work across the globe with the different national geothermal associations
  • Geothermal Running Club: trying to organise a daily  run in the morning (something of around 6-10 km (3.7 to 6 miles)

We are still seeking volunteers to help with efforts both in Melbourne, but also people across the globe who could spread the word across various social media and other channels. Details here.
