Geothermal Development Company (GDC) of Kenya is looking to fill 34 job positions in most departments, who are to support the development of the ambitious geothermal utilization plans of the company.

Kenya’s Geothermal Development Company (GDC), a “100% state-owned company with the mandate to fast track development of geothermal resources.”, so a recent posting on a job portal in Kenya.

“To achieve its objectives, GDC is seeking to engage highly motivated staff to support the development of steam equivalent to 5000 MW in the next 20 years.

They will be responsible for undertaking surface exploration and working on drill rigs in volcanic sites including Magadi, Bogoria, Arus, Lake Baringo, Chyulu, Masa Mukye, Homa Hills, Menengai, Barrier, Namarunu, Emuruangogolak, Silali, Korosi, Paka, Badlands, Chepchuk among others.

The ideal candidates should be able to work in camping environments in remote areas, aged between 21 and 35 years and have the following attributes: team player, high integrity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexible and willing to work long with minimal supervision.”

Positions offered are in the Supply Chain Department ( supply chain officers and administrative assistant), Finance Department (Accountants), Human Resources Department, Infrastructure & Logistics (engineers, technicians, surveyors, contract administrators, machine operators), Drilling Department (drilling engineers and technicians, cementing engineers, rig maintainance and technicians, automotive technicians, etc.) and in the Legal Department (Legal and insurance officer), as well as Administrative/ executive Assistants.
