Register for the six short courses at the WGC2015

Register today for the six short courses held in conjunction with the World Geothermal Congress 2015 taking place April 19-24, 2015 in Melbourne/ Australia. Five will be held in Melbourne ahead of the congress and one in New Zealand after the congress.

The World Geothermal Congress will be taking place from 19 to 24 April 2015 in Melbourne Australia! Held every five years, the World Geothermal Congress is a unique event that brings together members of the geothermal community from across the globe. Five days of technical sessions will include papers on scientific, technical, business and societal topics. If you have not registered for this exciting event, do it now! Short Courses

There are six short courses planned for the WGC 2015. Five of these are in Melbourne, before the commencement of the Technical Program. These courses are:

  • Geothermal Well Drilling, Completion, and Testing (2 days).
  • Scaling and Corrosion in Geothermal Development (2 days).
  • Reservoir Engineering and reservoir management (2 days).
  • Electricity generation from low temperature resources (2 days).
  • Reducing Drilling Risk (3 days).

The two day course will be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April; the three day course is taught from Friday 17 April to Sunday 19 April.

The sixth course will be in Taupo, New Zealand, from Sunday April 25 to Tuesday April 27 (3 days). This is the Geothermal Policy and implementation, the New Zealand example, which includes a field trip to power stations and thermal areas. A networking dinner in Rotorua is at extra cost.

These courses are for scientists and engineers who work, or intend to work in the geothermal industry, or managers who wish to gain more technical understanding of the issues involved in developing and managing a geothermal project. Lecturers are researchers, consultants, and managers from Iceland, France, New Zealand, and the USA. The two-day courses are $360AU and the three-day courses are A$540.
