A symposium to take place in Utrecht, Netherlands will look at "Geothermal Energy in the Netherlands in the Euopean Context". November 29, 2013

Dutch innovations in the Geothermal Energy sector must be seein in a wider, European context. This symposium sheds light ont he state-of-the-art of Geothermal Energy in Europe.

David Bruhn will introduce developments in the geothermal EU research arena, in the framework of the European Energy Research Alliance and perspectives in Horizon 2020.

Jan Hopman and Jan-Diederik van Wees present (expected) outcomes of various EC projects: GEISER focuses in depth understanding of induced seismicitz and IMAGE is targetted at advanced geothermal exploration techniques.

Philippe Dumas reports results of the EC project GEOLEC wich examined the potential of geothermal electricitz in Europe.

After the break, methodology and results of the European Resource Assessment within GEOLEC will be presented, and the learning from EU projects from the perspective of Dutch geothermal resources and thermoGIS will be discussed.

The current version of thermoGIS has not only been improved and extende with new maps. ThermoGIS Basic has also bee launched, representing a simpliefied version of the original one, published on the renewed website: www.thermogis.nl
