In a video interview, Albert Mugo, MD & CEO of KenGen provides insight into the annual results of KenGen for 2015 and an outlook for its geothermal business.

In a video interview with Aly-Khan Satchu ,CEO of Rich Management, Albert Mugo the MD & CEO of Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) provides some insight into the company’s annual results published in late February 2016.

In the interview they discuss the growth for KenGen and the role geothermal plays. They discuss financial elements, such as loans and the importance of private investment into the energy sector in Kenya.

They also talk about how KenGen is looking to expand its business, e.g. in drilling services and selling steam. The company is planning to create an industrial park in Olkaria that could attract companies that use steam for their manufacturing processes.

KenGen is looking at building out  a pipeline of 650 MW additional capacity by 2020.
